“ Ah Pitza Cano... This used to be my takeaway of choice, maybe because I lived right next to it for a while, but maybe because the pizzas are pretty decent (for the money you pay anyway). I never ventured far from their pizzas so couldn't tell you much about anything else from there, but the pizzas are definitely worth a go for some post night out action. Oh and once upon a time I heard the most random question ever in there: Who would win in a fight between a polar bear and a hippo on an astroturf? I decided the polar bear would win, but we always got pretty much 50/50 responses on asking anyone else! Thank you Pizza Cano for that memory!! ”

“ Hyde Park and Headingly, sometimes affectionately refereed to as 'Students-vill' is an area I know and love (some times). And if you know it to you will know that there is no shortage of places to get a dirty takeaway, often after a skinfull. However you will also know that by and large they are all absolutely shocking joints that have no idea how to make food, only how to make a killing off of students with large disposable incomes. However in the culinary wasteland Inner West Leeds there is a fabled diamond hiding among the terraces of of Hyde Park; and they call it 'Pitza Cano'. Although you can get burgers and kebabs and the rest here Pitza Cano is a genuine, bon afide Pizza join where they seem to think that knowing how to make food is a pre requisite to opening a shop that sells it. You won't get the same 'stack it high and sell it cheap' meal deals and promotions here, but it is still very affordable. And best off all they stay open late at weekends (not sure about in the week) so you can order mountains of decent quality heart attack food to your doorstep at 3 am!! Hooray!!! “ Pitza Cano's is a definite favourite in the 'circle of convenience', as I like to refer to it as, in Hyde Park. Located just on Queens Road, at the Jackson's end, there will never be a night you will find it deserted. With it's extensive pizza menu, friendly staff and other choices of food, including burgers, and salads- for those on diets. The pizzas are good. I think they are raved about slightly too much, in the way that my mate fought his way into getting one of the chefs t-shirts as a birthday present. Too much? Yes. But hey, I'm willing to accept that they are one of the safer choices when you're in dire need of a pizza at 3am after a night out, or indeed, when you just want a night in in front of the telly. I want to recommend their Sicillian Style pizza. Unlike some of the stodgier choices on their menu, it's a thinner base, with mozzerella tomato and basil, and feel so much lighter, despite the fact it probably still contains well on the way to anyones advised calory intake. ”

“ Most definitely...THE BEST TAKEAWAY IN LEEDS! There is a general consensus in the Leeds area that Pitza-Cano is the tastiest and best value for money! It was the first takeaway joint to open in the Hyde Park area so has had enough time to perfect it's award winning formula. You run the risk of ordering food poisoning with chips if you call a random number from one of the many offered in the outskirts of the city centre. However you can order with piece of mind with Pitza-cano, knowing your piece of pizza is going to be nothing but yummy! The menu is diverse and even offers some healthier options away from the obvious takeaway dishes (such as humous and pitta and ceasar salads.) And...,as if it couldn't get any better, Pitza-cano also delivers "booze and cigs" to your front door! What a perfect night in! Hyde Park dwellers have united in the saying 'To know Pitza Cano is to love it.' They supply, without question, the finest quality stone-baked pizzas you could hope for at an astounding price (£5-6). I actually think they do a better job than Domino's. Established in 1989, they have become local heroes and have only recently developed their 'posh' range of pizzas.
